Easter Explosion! Kwahu & Gomoa Light Up Ghana
As Christians across Ghana mark the resurrection of Christ, the nation witnessed an extraordinary fusion of faith, culture, tourism, and economic opportunity, with the twin hotspots of Kwahu and Gomoa drawing thousands of revellers, pilgrims, and investors.
At Kwahu, the famed Easter celebrations once again transformed the serene hills into a vibrant hub of activity—complete with paragliding thrills, street carnivals, business networking, and spiritual reflection.
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, speaking ahead of the 2026 Kwahu Business Forum, underscored the deeper meaning of the celebrations.
“The development of every nation is largely anchored on the strength of its private sector… we must work together… to transform Ghana,” he stressed.
He noted that Kwahu Easter has evolved beyond festivity into a national economic platform, linking tourism with enterprise and investment.
Indeed, what began as a traditional homecoming has grown into a major tourism event, attracting both local and international visitors for activities such as hiking, carnivals, and the globally recognised paragliding festival.
Meanwhile, in Gomoa, the atmosphere was equally electric as the 2026 Gomoa Easter Carnival burst into life with colour, music, and cultural pride.
Organised under the leadership of MP Kwame Asare Obeng, the four-day festival drew huge crowds.
Organisers say the carnival is “a major cultural and economic showcase” designed to promote tourism and create jobs.
From torchlight processions and bonfire nights to musical concerts featuring top Ghanaian artistes, Gomoa is positioning itself as a new Easter destination on Ghana’s tourism map.
Across the country, other Easter-related festivities—from church conventions and retreats to youth conventions and community durbars reinforced the spiritual core of the season while boosting local economies.
Security agencies also intensified their presence nationwide to ensure safe celebrations, particularly in Kwahu, where crowds peaked.
From the hills of Kwahu to the beaches of Gomoa, Easter 2026 is not just a celebration—it is a national movement of faith, unity, and economic revival.
